Frequently Asked Questions

Who dat?

Henlo! Hi. Hola. Aloha. c#include <stdio.h>
int main(void) {
printf("hello, world\n");
return 0;
}
I’m Miranda Sita. I live on Bainbridge Island’s south end with my husband and my kid.

I am here to help you “do you.” I haven’t heard it all yet, but I’m on a mission to. I’m an advocate and an editor, and I carry no judgment. Come as you are, and I’ll show up as I am.

What?

I help you design how your story is remembered. Think of me as a creative collaborator and calm, honest friend who is willing to go all the way into the real stuff, then turn it into something tangible your people can hold onto when you are otherwise gone.

Are you a therapist, clergy, or medical provider?

No. I do not provide medical care, legal advice, or therapy. I sit in the middle space: the emotional, practical, and creative terrain that usually gets ignored, and I enjoy collaborating with your hospice team, therapist, attorney, or spiritual support.

What is “Legacy Architecture”?

Legacy Architecture is my (32F, see above) term for intentionally designing how you will be remembered. It's the opposite of leaving behind a random shoebox of photos and unsaid things.

We build a small set of heirlooms with a clear purpose: a memorial website, a hand-bound book, a letter bundle, an audio or video series, or a ritual plan your people can actually follow.

What kinds of packages do you offer?

I work in focused content packages rather than open-ended sessions. Current offerings include:

  • Story Capsule: a small but mighty project (for example, a mini oral history and letter bundle) that captures one relationship or chapter.
  • Heirloom Collection: a suite of pieces (such as a book, memorial website, and audio or video recordings) that gives your people a place to return to when they miss you.
  • Companion Package: flexible support during an active transition where we mix practical planning, legacy projects, and emotional check-ins.

Each package has a clear scope, timeline, and price so you know what we are making together from the start.

Do you still do “doula” work?

Yes, but in my own way. Instead of bedside medical tasks, I hold space for hard conversations, help you name your wishes, really define them, and turn our life story into tangible artifacts and rituals. I am your project manager for legacy and a steady, present cheerleader while you do some of the most important work of your life.

Who is this work best for?

My work is a good fit if you are willing to be honest, a little weird, and curious about meaning. I especially love working with planners, artists and nerds, people with dark humor, and folks with creative or complicated families who want their story told with care.

Who is not a good fit?

If you are looking for medical advocacy, legal representation, or long-term psychotherapy, I am not the right provider. I am happy to sit alongside those professionals and focus on the story, ritual, and heirloom side of things.

What if I’m in crisis or feeling unsafe?

If you are in immediate crisis, experiencing thoughts of self-harm, or feel unsafe, please contact your local emergency services or call or text 988 in the United States for 24/7 support. Once you are safe and supported, we can talk about legacy, ritual, and meaning-making at a pace that works.

Is your work religious or spiritual?

My practice is secular and cross-cultural. I work with people of faith and no faith. We pull from the symbols, scriptures, pop culture, and family lore that feel true to you; “ritual” here just means intentional, repeatable actions that help your people remember and heal. It's folk, it's art, and it's a part of you.

I have a complicated family. Is this still for me?

Yes. Complicated families are my specialty. I act as a neutral third party who can help you say what needs saying, document boundaries and wishes, and design legacy projects that never require everyone to get along.

I’m healthy. Is it weird to hire you now?

Not at all. Doing this work while you’re healthy usually leads to more honest, playful, and creative projects. We can experiment, revise, and make things you actually love instead of rushing during a crisis.

Do you handle my “digital afterlife”?

Yes. A large part of modern deathcare is dealing with the accounts, subscriptions, and clouds where our lives now live. My team can help you inventory what exists, decide what should be archived, deleted, or transformed into memorial space, and build a digital or physical home that has a real opportunity to outlive any one platform or another.

Do you act as Executor of my estate?

No. The Executor is the legal decision-maker named in your will. I work alongside them (or you) as creative and organizational support so they aren’t trying to art-direct a memorial while also handling courts, banks, and paperwork. That's why i call it death support.

Where do you work? Is this only for Bainbridge Island?

Many projects happen remotely over video, phone, and shared documents, and for local clients, I offer in-person sessions, filming days, and on-site ritual or project support. I'm here, I'm there. I have worked with clients on Bainbridge Island, across the United States, and occasionally internationally.

How long does this take?

Timelines depend on the package and how much time and energy you have available. A Story Capsule typically takes a few weeks from first interview to finished heirloom; an Heirloom Collection often unfolds over several months; Companion work usually spans a defined season of life rather than being open-ended.

Your stories are yours. I only share finished work with people you explicitly name and give permission to, and we will talk through who gets access to what. (Recently, Eric Dane opted for Netflix distribution for his own legacy content.) For your people, their people, and the ones who will come after them.

How do your fees work?

Everything starts with a short discovery call so I can assess what you actually need. From there, you choose a content package, and we can add à la carte elements as requested.

Projects are priced based on their scope, beginning at $5,000 for memorial websites and $10,000 for documentary work. I keep my client list small to ensure each family receives my full creative energy.
